The Gift Of Song was established in 2003 when music industry vet Lee Evans decided to invite his 86 year old father to his professional Manhattan recording studio to record him playing guitar and singing and playing his Jamaican folk music. The experience so inspired him that he decided to create a service exlusively designed to bring amature singers into the studio to record and produce them as professionals, creating a top quality product.

"Every holiday, every family gathering or event, my dad would bring his guitar and sing and play his folk songs for us. We heard them so many times that they became ingrained in us much like the valuable life lessons that he taught. So I decided one day to bring him to the studio and record them, pretty much immortalizing them forever. Everywhere he went, he played his CD and the people would love it. And everyone in my family has a great copy of my dad playing the songs we all grew up listening to."

So Lee decided to let others in on the fun, developing it into a unique service sought after by hundreds of amature musician hobbiests and aspiring singers.
